Fort Langley is inviting those who want to be on TV - even if it means getting up early just a few days after Christmas.
CityTV's Breakfast Television will be doing live filming at the Fort Langley National Historic Site on the morning of Dec. 28, from 6: 38 to 8: 45 a.m.
The Fort's Haley Slipiec is asking local residents to come out to be extras in background shots.
Those who come out will be able to enter the Fort for free, and will be given a free day pass to use on another visit to the Fort later.
The first live segment begins at about 6: 43 a.m., but those who can't arrive until 7 a.m. may still find their way in front of the TV cameras over the next hour and a half.
Those who attend will be taking part in activities like decorating cookies, making heritage hot chocolate, tasting bannock, roasting chestnuts, or just sitting around the fire pit.
To attend, RSVP to Slipiec by the end of the day Thursday, Dec. 27, at 604-513-4824, and leave a message if there is no answer.
To enter on the day of the event, bypass the visitor's centre and head straight to the Fort's wooden gates. The visitor's centre will be closed until 9 a.m., said Slipiec.
The Fort is currently running its Heritage Holiday event, which takes visitors back to the way the holidays were celebrated when the fur trade was the dominant local industry.
