Teenager survives stabbing

A young man was hurt after a fight in a Cloverdale front yard

A Surrey teen is expected to recover from stab wounds after a fight Saturday night at a Cloverdale home.

The fight took place at a house party in the 18200 block of 60th Ave. just after 11 p.m., said Surrey RCMP.

Several neighbours called the police, saying there had been a fight in the yard and at least one person was hurt.

Police found the wounded teen, who had been stabbed in the torso, and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Mounties report that the young man is expected to survive.

The suspected attacker fled and was not located.

A large number of those at the party left before police arrived, and the RCMP is hoping to speak to those potential witnesses.

Anyone who saw the fight and stabbing, or who can help identify the suspect, is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-5990502, or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
