Seniors Day is Oct. 1.

Do not try and contact the senior citizens in your life at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1.

That's because they will be busy dancing.

The B.C. Seniors Living Association reminds everyone that Oct. 1 is National Seniors Day and has launched a campaign to get seniors all dancing at 2 p.m. on that day.

The association hopes to have 12,000 seniors, standing or sitting, moving and groving with their favourite dance moves in unison.

Also on Monday is a flag raising for Seniors Week, taking place at 11 a.m. and hosted by the Canadian Association of Retired Persons chapter 48 at the Langley Township Civic Facility.

Leading up to Seniors Day is the Silverlife Seniors Health and Wellness Expo on Sept. 29, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Coast Hotel Convention Centre.

The expo will include vendor displays, relevant keynote speakers including doctors, pharmacists, financial planners and speakers, hands-on demonstrations, and prize giveaways.

Tickets are $5 a person at the door and a portion of each ticket will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
