A Langley MLA will go to the nation's capital to talk First Nations issues.
Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation and Langley MLA Mary Polak will lead a delegation to Ottawa this week to update federal officials on B.C.'s work in building relationships with First Nations to achieve economic certainty and reconciliation.
Polak, President of the Nanwakolas Council Dallas Smith, and President and CEO of the Business Council of B.C. Greg D'Avignon will make a presentation to federal B.C. government caucus members.
Minister Polak will testify before the Aboriginal Peoples Committee of the Senate on the success of B.C.'s approach to treaties.
The event will be held on Wed., Feb. 1 at 3:45 p.m. Pacific time, and will be broadcast on CPAC.
Polak will also meet with National Assembly of First Nations Chief Shawn Atleo, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development John Duncan, and Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Keith Ashfield.
