The man found murdered inside a home in South Brookswood was a 21-year-old with no criminal record, police say.
Taylor Daniel Johnson has been identified as Langley’s first murder victim of 2013. He was found last Tuesday night in a home in the 2000 block of 200th Street.
An autopsy has been completed, but IHIT is not releasing the cause of Johnson’s death.
According to Sgt. Jennifer Pound, spokespserson for the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), Johnson was a caretaker for a supposedly vacant property where he was found dead.
A neighbour of the site, who asked not to be named, said she knew a man who appeared to be living on the site until just a few days before the murder.
She described the man living there as in his late 40s or early 50s.
The property did not appear to be fully vacant, with grass cut and trees trimmed relatively recently. The gate at the end of the driveway was always padlocked, according to the neighbour.
IHIT is asking anyone with information about the murder to come forward by calling the IHIT tip line 1-877-551-4448 (IHIT) or by email at ihittipline@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
