Langley residents got a chance to take part in a historic relay, and to learn about disabilities, as the 25th anniversary of Rick Hansen's Man in Motion Tour was celebrated on May 19.
A free Active Expo was held at the Langley Events Centre. It showed off the programs and events that make Langley accessible to those with mobility challenges, and acted as an educational tool as well.
Paralympic athletes, as well as the medal bearers for the cross-Canada relay that is marking the anniversary, attended the event.
Rick Hansen circled the world in 1987 to raise money and awareness about accessibility issues for spinal cord injuries and other types of disabilities.
