Dear Editor,

While I agree that Canadian veterans are not being given their just dues for their pain and suffering, perhaps Mr. Casey [Tories mistreating veterans, June 28 Letters, Langley Advance] should take care, the Canadian public has very long memories, i.e. l'affaire Helicopters, the outright criminal treatment of the Hong Kong vets, along with others returning from the Second World War.

Mr. Casey, as a federal Liberal, is living in a glass house. Throwing stones will not do him or his party any good at the polls.

Sending our soldiers to Afghanistan in green uniforms was a serious mistake. Having the Canadian NATO forces pay out of pocket for their Blue Berets prior to being assigned to Kosovo was another Liberal goof.

Perhaps rather than focus on the Tories, Mr. Casey should focus on why the Liberals are no longer in power, and do all he can to restore the party.
