Halloween uneventful

A single small fire was the most serious problem on Oct. 31

Langley saw a relatively quiet Halloween as far as crime and public disturbances went this year.

On the night of Oct. 31, Township firefighters doused a single dumpster fire, at North Otter Elementary, said assistant fire chief Bruce Ferguson.

There was no damage to the building.

In Langley City, there were no fires to report.

While there were numerous sounds of fireworks and firecrackers, there were no reports of injuries, fire officials said. With heavy rain, the trick or treaters finished their routes and retreated inside.
