A Tuesday night murder in Fernridge has the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on scene.
“On Tuesday February 26, 2013 shortly after 10 p.m the Langley RCMP received a call requesting the police attend a residence in the 2000 block of 200 Street in Langley to check on the well being of a male who was staying at the residence,” said IHIT’s Cpl. Adam MacIntosh.
The RCMP found a dead man and a marijuana grow op inside the rural residence.
“Officers on the scene were able to identify this death was as the result of foul play,” he said.
IHIT was called in and the identity of the Caucasian man who died has not been released at this time.
“We are in the early stages of the investigation and processing the crime scene in an effort to determine what occurred inside the residence including the motive,” MacIntosh said.
IHIT and Langley RCMP investigators are at the scene and will likely be there for the next couple of days.
