Willowbook Shopping Centre celebrated the Year of the Snake with a blast of colour and sound Sunday afternoon.

Lunar New Year festivities included an origami craft station, traditional dancing by the Vancouver Chinese Lion Dance Team, and an Asian-inspired harp performance.

Following the lion dance, which drew a large crowd of onlookers to an open foyer and was infused with showers of candy and confetti, the “dragons” from Vancouver toured the mall to bless the stores.

To open the performance, the dancers moved in unison to PSY’s Gangnam Style, to the delight of the audience.

On Family Day Monday, a tai chi demonstration, origami crafts, a traditional Korean dance, and a harp concert made up the activities.
