The neighbourhoods of Langley were invited to come by and see what their firefighters do during an annual open house last week.
On June 26 and 27, the six fire halls in the Township threw open their doors and welcomed visitors, friends, family members, and their partners in emergency response.
In Walnut Grove, for example, they were joined by Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue, the RCMP Auxiliary Constables, and BC Ambulance Service paramedics.
The Walnut Grove event was also visited by firehall mascot Sparky, who met the younger attendees.
Visitors, especially children, got a chance to try out the hoses and fire extinguishers and put on some firefighter turnout gear, including helmets, boots, and coats.
