Milner Garden's owners wanted to hold a nice food-based event to raise money for the Langley Food Bank, hoping for a turnout of about 50 to make it a success.

Attendance topped out at more than 200, and during the planning phase, several other businesses and individuals came forward asking to be part of the party.

On Aug. 20, Milner's Fete for the Food Bank featured cooking demonstrations by Chef Dez, wine tastings, naturopathic doctor presentations, fashions prices and more.

This first ever Fete for the Food Bank raised more than $3,300 and organizers are already busy planning for next year.
