Langley-based "Wellspring Foundation for Education" celebrated their new offices in downtown Langley with a community open house. Celebrating staff, board members, and friends were Barb Luck, Mark and Tracey Thiessen, Rod Binder, Gerri Wallis, Betty Ainslie, Jerry Malnis, Elizabeth Johnson, Richard and Ericka Taylor with Jordan and Micah, Edgar Luck, Janice Nikkel, and Andy Harrington. Wellspring's vision is to develop Rwandan leaders through education.
Coast Capital credit union donated $25,000 to Langley Meadows Elementary School to purchase new technology and books for the library and classrooms. On hand for the presentation were Langley School District Foundation executive director Susan Cairns, Angela Katsamakis and Tara MacKenzie of Coast Capital, and vice-principal Esther Schmit and principal Vanessa Jaggi of Langley Meadows school.
Raymond VanBugnum of All Seasons Garden Centre and Jody Henderson of the Greater Vancouver Zoo presented $5,725 to BC Children's Hospital on behalf of the Aldergrove Business Association. The money was raised through the annual Wall-O-Lantern event in Aldergrove.
Elena Bouchayer and Donni Rae Edmondson, owner/founder of the local Privilege Clothing Boutique, partnered with Rejuva Medispa & Laser and Black Orchid Hair Studio to present the Night of Luxury on Feb. 7 - a night of beauty and fashion, with wine, champagne, appetizers, and  a sneak peek at spring 2013 collections.
