A member of an Aldergrove church is offering a reward to find the congregation a new home.

Someone who can find a new home for the Aldergrove Seventh Day Adventist Church could walk away with a $1,000 payday.

One member of the church’s congregation is digging into his own pocket and offering the reward for anyone who can find a five-acre property in the Township suitable for a new church.

The reward was offered by church member Keith Tall.

“Our church has just exploded in members,” Tall said. The congregation has become known for a number of charitable outreach projects, such as renovating the homes of deserving local families.

The church bought a property in Willoughby several years ago for a new building, but that site turned out to be wanted by the province – it is the future site of a massive park-and-ride transit hub.

Now there seem to be few sites left, said senior pastor David Jamieson.

Ideally, the church would like to be between 200th and 232nd Streets, but Aldergrove is also a possibility.

Tall is asking for public tips about property between 200th Street and 264th Street, north of Fraser Highway and south of the Trans-Canada Highway.

To contact Tall about a property, call 604-534-1759.
