Langley BMX is hosting a Canadian Nationals competition this week at its Brookswood bike track.

The Borderline Nationals start on Friday and run Saturday and Sunday north of the George Preston Civic Centre at 20699 42 Ave.

The three-day event begins Friday and is open to riders of all ages, whether they are with a club or want to sign up before the races.

Racers are expected from B.C., Alberta, and the United States.

On Saturday morning, the youngest riders will include two-to four-year-olds on push bikes doing a modified version of the course.

About 500 to 600 riders are expected to be part of this competition.

Numerous trophies will be handed out for victorious riders, and in the case of the younger ones, some trophies may be taller than the participants.

Registration is from 2-5 p.m. on Friday, with racing at 6 p.m. Registration is also slated for Saturday from 8: 3010 a.m. with the racing getting underway as of 11: 30 a.m.

There will be no registration Sunday, with racing starting at 9 a.m.
