It can be hard for family and friends to say no to a child at Christmas.

When five-year-old Lochlan Murray asked for presents, his family and friends were only too happy to oblige.

Now the Aldergrove boy is giving everything he got away.

The little boy became aware of the need last Christmas and wanted to do something for people in the community who don't have enough to eat.

On Dec. 16 he hosted the first, and what is expected to be annual, Lochlan's Hungry Tummies Food Drive. Friends and family came out with bags of canned goods and ate cookies Lochlan made for them. The donations went into a crate made by his father Jason Murray and his uncle Chris Taylor. On Monday the food went to the Langley Food Bank, about 300 pounds of it.
