Each year, the Langley Good Times Cruise-In's Ultimate Garage raffle lives up to its name.

It's the ultimate prize for the guys and gals whose favourite pastime involves having their heads buried under the hood of a car or truck.

Organized by Mike Coates, manager of the Lordco Auto Parts location in Langley, the Ultimate Garage is once again offering loads of tools and toys at this year's annual show and shine.

Lordco initially co-sponsored the Ultimate Garage with KMS and Snap-on, before handling the sponsorship duties on its own.

"I would say six or seven years, we've been on our own," Coates said.

The swag earmarked for this year's lucky winner amounts to a whopping $19,977.12.

Rick Sparrow of Surrey won the 2011 Ultimate Garage prize.

Coates said Sparrow was thrilled when truck loads of tools were delivered to his home last year.

"We filled up his garage," he said. "He was very excited."

A total of 2,400 tickets are available which, in Coates' opinion, makes for good odds for a prize worth just under $20,000.

Raffle tickets went on sale Aug. 29.

You can purchase tickets at the Lordco Parts location at 5825 200th Street from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. until this Friday, Sept. 7.

Last year's draw almost sold out and Coates is aiming to do the same this year.

One of the most appealing goodies in the Ultimate Garage is the Rotary 9,000-pound four-post hoist, estimated at $3,195.99. A Strongarm 20-ton hydraulic press ($1,640.99), a TCA 36" industrial cabinet ($1,199.99), and an air compressor ($1,000) are also among the big-ticket items up for grabs as part of the package.

Tickets are $10 each or three for $25, and will also be available on Cruise-In day, Saturday, Sept. 8.

Visitors can view the Ultimate Garage prize package and buy tickets, while they last, from the raffle tent set up near the intersection of Fraser Highway and 56th Avenue.

Proceeds from Ultimate Garage ticket sales go to the Cruise-In's charities.
