They've not old enough to grow ones of their own so they made mustaches to show their support for Movember.

"They had fun designing their mustaches," said Grade 4 teacher James Gillion.

He and another R.C. Garnett Demonstrtion Elementary School teacher, Chris Epting, who teaches Grade 5, led the charge in the school and on Nov. 30, pretty much every student and most teachers were sporting facial hair.

Some drew their 'staches on paper. Others opted for fun fur, pipe cleaners or a mustache coloured on a finger with a felt pen.

Gillion had done a Movember initative in a previous school he taught in and suggested it when to went to work at the Willoughby area school.

In addition to creating school spirit, the effort also helped students learn about men's health.

"This is our first year at R.C. Garnett," Gillion said.

He said many of the students are familiar with Movember through family members taking part.
