Fashion and Flicks: Drop off your gently used women's business wear and accessories to Empire Esplanade 6 Cinemas (200 West Esplanade Ave.) to the end of June in support of Dress for Success Vancouver. Monetary donations are also accepted at the box office. Sponsor a woman to access all of the not-for-profit program's services for only $150. Drop-offs can be made during theatre hours only. Half-price Sale: The thrift shop at Mount Seymour United Church, at 1200 Parkgate Ave. just off Mount Seymour Parkway, holds its half-price sale on Thursdays from 2 to 8 p.m.

Reduce and ReUse Thrift Shop Fundraiser: St. Monica's Church and the Western Residents Association operate a fundraising thrift shop the last Saturday of each month, noon to 4 p.m. at St. Monica Church Hall, 6404 Wellington Ave., West Vancouver. Info: 604-921-1956.

Closet Clean: This is the favourite time of year for the volunteers at Treasure Cottage Thrift Stores. According to a written statement, volunteers love to keep busy, but the stores are in dire need of gently used "treasures," including clothing and accessories. The thrift stores are the major source of revenue to support the SOS Children's Village B.C., which provides family-based care service for foster children and foster families. There is also an urgent need for volunteers in the organization's three stores, in Steveston, Kerrisdale and at 121 Lonsdale Ave. in North Vancouver. Drop-off is at the rear of the building.
