Staff recognition: Donna Bohl (left) shook hands with Langley School District Trustee Megan Dykeman during the school board's presentation of long service awards May 15. Teachers, support staff, administration, and clerical, janitorial, and busing staff who have worked for the district for 20, 30, or 40 years were recognized.

Junior talent competition held Saturday at the Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair this weekend. Following on the heels of the Langley Has Talent contest earlier this month, the two local hopefuls tried again to win, but without success. Nevertheless, both young singers vow to keep competing.

Up-and-coming Langley singer Emily Taylor Adams, 20, performed in between the barrel racing and saddle-bronc events.
Yee-haw! Sydney Daines and her horse from Innisfail Alta. turned the corner during the ladies barrel racing event, part of Sunday afternoon's Cloverdale Rodeo performance.
Saddle bronc  riding was also part of the 66th annual rodeo, which ran May 18-21.
