It's a Valentine's Day contest made for Langley, the Horse Capital of B.C.

Dreamscape Farm, based on Telegraph Trail, is offering a draw for a free breeding with Farscape, their stallion who has his birthday on Feb. 14.

"We like to have fun with it," said Jennifer Arnoldt, who has run the farm with her husband since the 1990s.

The family has previously held special events for Easter and Christmas, and wanted to do something for Valentine's Day as well.

It's not a small prize, as a breeding with a horse of Farscape's calibre goes for about $1,200.

With that value on the line, there has already been a lot of interest, said Arnoldt.

The interest has come from all over North America, she said.

"It gives back to the breeding community," Arnoldt said the contest.

Farscape was born in 2007, was second in dressage as a three-year-old at his 70-day test, won championships and reserves in the Baby Green Hunters, was the BCHJA Hunter of the Year in 2012, and won a Canadian Hunter Derby.

To enter the contest, visit Dreamscape Farm's Facebook page and "like" Farscape's picture.

Then send contact information including name and phone number, along with mare information if desired, by email to dreamscapefarm@shaw.ca.

Entries must be in by midnight on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.

There will be one, or possibly two, free breedings drawn for.
