Operation Red Nose had one of its best years ever, said coordinator Annie Pierotti.
The Langley/Surrey chapter of the volunteer service got more than 900 people home safely after a night of drinking - and that doesn't count the numbers for New Year's Eve. Full numbers were scheduled to be released late Thursday, Pierotti said.
"It was an amazing year," Pierotti said.
A number of new volunteers came out for New Year's, and Pierotti said she believed it was the best year for the service, which is organized largely by Langley Gymnastics.
Volunteers with Operation Red Nose take people home, and ferry their cars, if they've been out drinking in December.
