Quinn Johnston of Langley took part in a national-level competition recently in an unusual event: the Canadian Pok‚mon championships. Quinn, a student at Langley Christian, took third out of 29 competitors in the event, held in Toronto on Canada Day, after being defeated in a best two out of three bout with the eventual second-place winner. Quinn took, and still holds, the Western Canadian Regional title after beating the same opponent he faced in Surrey this spring. Johnston competed in the Nintendo DS handheld gaming category.
