Ready, set, bead! Back this fall, the Fraser Valley Bead Show is returning to Langley this weekend.
The Coast Hotel and Convention Centre is once again the site for to this show that includes nearly 50 artists and vendors from across the country taking part in a three-day show that runs Friday to Sunday, Oct. 12-14.
This show, organizers say, is every crafter's dream.
Beaders can stock-up on supplies, check out the free bead-making demonstrations, or attend one of the 20 jewellery-making classes.
"Crafters need not be shy; the Fraser Valley Bead Show doesn't just cater to beaders, explained show founder and producer Barrie Edwards.
"This is a great event for crafters of all types," she said.
"There are so many unique items that would be great for scrapbooking, fiber arts, home decorating or mixed media," Edwards elaborated, pointing out one vendor in particular from Vancouver Island that is selling pearls.
"I am so excited. One can never have too many pearls!" she said.
Participants are also encouraged to keep their eyes open for fan favourites including silver components, gemstones, glasswork jewellery and beads, and clay confections.
"I'm always excited to see what kinds of new designs the artists come up with," Edwards said.
"Our show has been growing. We have a spring show in New Westminster and just finished our first Alberta show in Calgary, but Langley is where it all started and it is always nice to go home," said the Aldergrove resident.
The Fraser Valley Bead Show is being held at the Coast Hotel, at 20393 Fraser Hwy. from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is $7, and children 11 years and younger get in free.
