A pair of teenagers are facing robbery charges after they were caught thanks to a trackable electronic device stolen in a Langley home invasion.

On June 20, three men, one armed with a gun, forced their way into a home in the Willoughby area, said Sgt. Ravinder Pawar of the Langley RCMP.

The homeowner was tied up, and the three men then looted the home of electronics and other valuables.

After the suspects left, the victim managed to free himself and called the police.

Investigators quickly determined that one of the stolen devices had an imbedded GPS system, and it was still turned on.

That led them to an address in Richmond. Mounties in that community spotted the suspects and after a brief pursuit arrested them.

Albert Dario and Raymond Brown, both 18-year-old Surrey men, have been arrested and charged with robbery and possession of stolen property.

They were held in custody until a June 22 court appearance.

Pawar said the incident appears to be isolated and targeted, and that there does not appear to be imminent danger to the public from similar occurrences.
