Run, walk, or roll for Terry, and to continue his fight against cancer, this Sunday.
Terry Fox Runs begin at Douglas Park and the Walnut Grove Community Centre on Sept. 16.
At Douglas Park, registration begins at 9 a.m. with the run beginning at 10 a.m.
The Walnut Grove run includes registration at 8: 30 a.m. followed by the event itself at 9 a.m.
Douglas Park hosts entertainment and fun for all ages, including puppy pedicures, a face painter, and a clown making all kinds of balloon animals.
The Langley City run offers routes of one, five, and 10 kilometres. All routes are accessible for people in scooters and wheelchairs.
Langley City firefighters will be on hand to grill hamburgers and hot dogs from the concession, which opens at 9 a.m. The grilling starts at 10 a.m.
In addition, organizers are hoping for a silver parade.
Seniors in the community have been encouraged to form groups and come out to walk the route.
Termed the Silver Foxes for Cancer Research, seniors are invited to participate either at their retirement communities or on the day of the event.
There is no entry fee and anyone at any fitness level can participate.
Contact run organizer Lilianne Fuller at 604-533-0638 for pledge forms or more information.
