Skip the gym and spend the morning outdoors.
That's the message from organizers of an "Invasive Species Removal" event Saturday, May 26, from 10: 30 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. at Tynehead Regional Park in Surrey.
"Match your might against invasive English Ivy," event organizers say. "Reclaim the forest floor for native flowers such as trillium and bleeding heart. Join Metro Vancouver park interpreters (for) a workout you'll feel good about."
To get involved in the volunteer effort, meet at the 168th Street parking lot. Gloves and snacks are provided. Children age eight and older are welcome. If you are bringing a group, call 604-432-6359; otherwise, registration is not required.
