Langley City’s IGA Marketplace grocery store will close its doors in a few months, its owner says.
Robert Lee said he could not come to a new agreement with the owner of the Langley Market Mall on 204th Street and Douglas Crescent.
“We’re closing our doors on Aug. 31,” Lee said.
There will not be another IGA opened in the immediate area, at least not by Lee.
“We’re not going to look for another location around here,” he said.
The Lee family also owns IGA outlets in Walnut Grove and Fort Langley, the latter of which is under reconstruction following a fire.
The Langley City IGA is the closest grocery store to a number of seniors residences immediately to the south.
