Birdie bashers unite Tuesdays

 

 
 
 

Do you want to get fit, have fun and relieve stress? Come to drop-in women's badminton and join an enthusiastic bunch for some "birdie bashing" every Tuesday. Drop in any time between from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Evergreen Hall. No experience necessary. The emphasis is on fun and exercise. The fee is $4. Contact Anne at 604-798-3709.

Wicked Gurls Fitness Bootcamps for Women are coming to Chilliwack at the south side of the parking lot at the Prospera Centre. The organization is dedicated to helping women achieve their fitness and personal goals. Come and have fun working out in a supportive and encouraging environment. Chilliwack Hoops presents "Get Ready for the Season" fall program. There is fitness training (using Crossfit principles) Mondays and Wednesdays 6-7 p.m. at the CSS Mini Gym through Nov. 18. As well, there is basketball skill development Fridays through Nov. 13 from 6-8:30 p.m.

Green Light Adventures still has room for inline hockey players and indoor soccer players for the fall/winter season, from the fall through March. Divisions for inline hockey are atom (6-9 years old), peewee (9-12), bronze (13-18) plus recreational adult players, and silver for adults and elite youth players. A limited number of goalie spots are available. All games are at Landing Sports Centre on Wednesday evenings.

Athletes in Action's Friday Nite Basketball runs from to March 5, 2010 and includes one and a half hours of instruction for boys and girls in grades 1 to 4 and two hours for boys and girls in grades 5 to 8. The Chilliwack Ultimate League announces the return of ultimate frisbee. The adult, co-ed league runs Friday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fairfield Island Park. Anyone over 16 can drop in for $3. We teach beginners the basics. It's easy to learn and great exercise. We play rain or shine.
