Not every band dresses up for their shows, but March Hare plays the part even when it isn't Halloween. They'll fit right in with the crowd at this year's Jubilee Hall annual Fall Down Dance.

Dance the night away on a hardwood floor while you listen to covers of your favourite tunes.

Winners of the CAMEO Awards' Entertainers of the Year and Vocalist of the Year, March Hare was voted "fan favourite" two years in a row at the Merritt Mountain Music Fest.

Costumes aren't mandatory, but it will be a howling Halloween event on Oct. 27 and prizes will be awarded for best costumes.

Tickets are $25 and include dinner. Doors open at 7 p.m., dinner is at 8 p.m. and a cash bar is available. For more information call 604-856-4375.

Purchase tickets at Wilway Lumber at 28728 Fraser Highway, online at www. brownpapertickets.com or call 1-800-8383006.

DISCUSSION

Trinity Wester University (TWU) is hosting a screening of the thought-provoking film Logos Mysterium on October 19 at 7 p.m.

The film explores the many meanings and interpretations of the Greek word "logos".

A brief panel discussion will follow the film along with a conversation with the film's creator, TWU professor Ned Vankevich.

Philosophical and theological perspectives will be explored.

Admission is free for the 45 minute film screening.

For more details about the film or the event, visit www.twu.ca/samc.

IN THE COUNTRY

The Township 7 Winery Harvest Picking Party 2012 is Oct. 21. It is slated for 9: 30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

This is the third annual harvest picking party. Take part in this year's grape harvest or "La Vendange", which in all cultures signifies not just the picking of grapes but a cause for celebration.

The Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot grapes will be picked at the Langley winery. Afterwards those attending are treated to wine and a harvest lunch - free (in exchange for helping with the harvest). The suggested attire: bring pruners and gardening gloves, and dress for the weather. Be advised this is not suitable activity for those with bad knees or a bad back.

SQUISHY FUN

The third annual Township 7 Monster Mash Grape Stomp is a family event on Oct. 28 benefitting the Critter Care Wildlife Society. Admission is by donation that day and events run 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The adults can enjoy the new fall wines while the whole family can take part in the stomping as well as a charcuterie menu (or take a picnic). There will be a fire to keep warm and a kids play area as well as live music to enjoy.

The stomp is a team event. Create a team or join one on site. Stomping will be 2-3 p.m. and the entry fee is a donation. Find out more about events at the South Langley winery at www.township7.com.

GARDEN MARKET

The Milner Village Market hosts a Pumpkin Party on Oct. 20.

It runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be pumpkin carving, face painting, and a petting zoo as well as the Pumpkin Pop. Throw darts at the giant pumpkin to win the contents. For the adults there will be a variety of vendors. It goes rain or shine at 6690 216th St. That will be the site of the Winter Farmer's Market which runs Oct. 27 to Dec. 15. Local growers and food producers will be featured, and the market will be indoors. It runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
