Langley Township firefighters gathering up the goods for fire victims

Firefighters will drive the donations to Kamloops today.

They are only on site until 2 p.m. today and then a two-ton cube van filled with food and clothes, pet food and linens hits the highway for Kamloops.

Langley Township firefighters pulled together an impromptu fundraiser to help B.C. wildfire victims and aren’t wasting any time getting the goods to the evacuation areas.

Firefighter Cody Hopkins and his father will drive the donations to Kamloops later today.

In addition to the cube van filled with donations, there were also more than $2,000 in cash donations.

There are 167 active fires in this province, including 32 new ones starting Thursday.
