Lights out in Langley but no one injured

Tuesday evening's wild weather left many without power

A sudden summer storm knocked out power for several Langley residents Tuesday evening.

BC Hydro reported numerous localized blackouts across the community due to the lightning storm that slammed into the Lower Mainland.

At least five of the power failures lasted into Wednesday morning. Most only affected a handful of electricity customers, according to BC Hydro.

Two men were hit with lightning in the Lower Mainland, one in Coquitlam and one in Surrey, but both survived with only minor injuries.

There are also reports of several trees and some buildings being hit by lightning.
