Forty years ago, Nov. 16, 1972, Langley Township's total budget was $5,357,646, and the federal minimum wage was raised to $2 per hour [1942: Hospital planned, Nov. 20 Looking Back., Langley Advance].

In November 2012 the minimum wage is five or six times as much. but Langley Township budget! Has our Township spending gotten way out of control? Maybe - just maybe - Rick Green wasn't too far off the mark, after all.
