To gauge the popularity of Saturday's Household Hazardous Waste Plus Recycling Event in Murrayville, look no further than the line-up.
By 1 p.m. cars and trucks lined up for almost a block along 48th Avenue so they could gain access to Langley Township's Operations Building on 224th Street.
Residents were eager to dispose of hazardous materials from around their homes, along with recycling electronics and small appliances.
The usual suspects - paint cans, car batteries, lightbulbs and a variety of cleaners, motor oil, and other substances - had company this year.
New to the 2012 drop-off were electronics, small appliances, smoke detectors, and mercury thermostats.
