A trio of suspected thieves has been arrested in Fort Langley, and now Mounties are trying to return a cache of stolen loot.

At about 4 p.m. on July 2, the Langley RCMP were called about two men walking down Billy Brown Road and Muench Trail in Fort Langley, checking car door handles.

The caller also said the two men were apparently moving about with a black Mazda, said Cpl. Holly Marks, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

An officer arrived and quickly found the Mazda, with three young men inside.

Two of them matched the description of the men seen going from car to car, and the officer also noticed that there seemed to be a lot of goods inside the car that likely didn't belong to any of the trio.

The driver, a 17-year-old Surrey teenager, was suspected of drinking and given a 12-hour driving prohibition, and the Mazda was impounded.

The other two occupants, 18-year-old Langley residents, may face charges once the investigation is finished, Marks said.

Police managed to return some of the items to local residents, but still have a number of items in their custody.

They include:

- prescription glasses

- compact discs

- car cellphone chargers

- iPod earbuds

- a knife

- golfballs

- a measuring tape and

- a variety of USB cords

Anyone who suspects they may own some of these items can call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
