The last Blackberry Bakeoff to take place at the Langley Environmental Partners Society Demonstration Garden in Murrayville brought out people's creativity in many ways.

There were at least 28 blackberry dishes people could sample (making for some rather stuffed judges).

There were also green projects like birdhouse building and crafts, as well as information about the garden, which is moving to the Derek Doubleday Arboretum, LEPS programs, invasive plants like blackberries, and public voting for People's Choice from the many blackberry creations people submitted.

- Judges first place winner: TJ Kuipers, Blackberry Marshmallow squares. Runner up: Liz Kendler, Blackberry Plum Scum

- Peoples Choice Award: Ruby (no last name given), Blackberry Tarts

A magician was included in the entertainment offered at this year's bakeoff.
Vanessa Ayley, a summer staffer with the Langley Environmental Partners Society, kept track of all the blackberry dishes that were submitted this year.
Township Councillors David Davis, Grant Ward, and (not shown) Bev Dornan were the judges. Davis and Ward added cheese and sour cream to their blackberry chili samples.
Elizabeth Morris, 18 months, enjoyed the kids crafts.
