The roster has been announced for the next Food Bank Tuesday.
On Aug. 3, people can enjoy the music of Alyssa Neilsen, teen Joe Given, Michael Vincent, Eli Bryan Nelson and percussionist Mark Dobbs.
And if Mother Nature is cooperative, this will be the second time the organizers have been able to have the charity event outside in the courtyard of McBurney Lane.
Since it started a few years ago, Food Bank Tuesday has been held at McBurney Coffee and Tea House.
Last month the musicians, who donate their time to help bring in food and cash donations for the Langley Food Bank, performed al fresco.
“We had about 250 people show up,” Nelson noted. “It was a record night for the food bank.”
The show runs Aug. 3, 7-9 p.m. and the cost is a donation of non-persishable food or cash.
Bixby postponed
Fans will have to wait to see Jaydee Bixby. The local musical talent was slated to perform at the Cascades Casino Aug. 7 but the date has been changed to Sept. 17. Contact Cascades with any questions. The tickets will be honoured for the new date.

The 10,000th customer will walk through the doors of the Langley City Library sometime in August and the lucky person who helps the library reach that milestone will receive prizes.
The 10,000th customer also coincides with the library marking its 10th anniversary with a special celebration Aug. 25. Watch for more details as the date approaches.
You go, girl
The theme for the West Coast All Canadian Girl Pageant is Paint the Town Pink and so expect to see a lot of pink Aug. 6 and 7 when the pageant takes place. The finals are Aug. 7 at the Chief Sepass Theatre.
West Coast is expanding its pageant offerings around the province and holds its finals in this community.
More than 60 girls are signed up to take part, including some local youngsters.
Organizers claim to be different than traditional pageants. The emphasis is on beauty inside and out, and personality. The contestants can take part in whichever contests they choose at a given pageant – be it the talent portion, the team talent contest, the gown portion or the casual wear contest.
All those entrants four and older must introduce themselves on stage and answer impromptu questions.
Every girl goes home with a tiara while the winners can earn trophies or prizes. There are no cash awards in this pageant.
There are also optional pink parties and a pizza party. Entrants must provide school supplies which will be donated. The cost varies depending on which contests are entered and the contestant categories range from birth to 18 years of age. More information is at www.westcoastgirlpageant.com.
The audience is also asked to bring school supplies to donate.
In the garden
The August long weekend is when the Birthplace of BC Gallery on Glover Road in Fort Langley hosts its Demos in the Garden by gallery artists. This will be the 10th year for the out-of-doors art event which runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 1 and 2.
