I work in a big box store, and had Garbage Grump [Food composting made too difficult, Sept. 27 Letters, Langley Advance] come to my store first, he would have found exactly what it was that he was looking for, with a clear explanation of what you can and cannot put into your "green can."

It is unfortunate that he had to shop around to find what he thought was correct.

It is also unfortunate that it appears the handy laminated chart at Canadian Tire did not provide the appropriate information.

At my place of employment, the handy laminated chart clearly states that the Township does not accept "compostable plastic bags." I cannot speak to the program for the City of Langley, as I understand it is not the same as that for the Township.

It is unfortunate that Garbage Grump finds it frustrating and difficult, because once the process is clear, it is very easy.
