Langley Township firefighters couldn’t save a barn from destruction by fire Friday morning.

The fire was in the 6700 block of 232nd Street, said assistant fire chief Bruce Ferguson.

It began sometime in the mid-morning. By the time Ferguson spoke to the Advance just after 10 a.m., the fire had almost destroyed the building.

Fortunately, it seems no animals were killed, and no people were hurt by the fire.

The cause was not immediately known.

The fire caused traffic to be stopped along part of 232nd Street for some time.
