Langley Mounties are investigating a fatal crash that took place Thursday morning in the 2300 block of 256th Street.

The vehicle apparently went off the road to the right and went over or through a ditch and struck a tree, said Cpl. Holly Marks, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

The Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service (ICARS) was called to help local police with the crash investigation.

A mile-long stretch of 256th Street has been closed since before 9 a.m. and is expected to be closed for several hours while investigators pore over the scene.
