Mother Nature made people work for their fun at this year's Langley Community Day.
Non-stop wet was the order of the day June 16 but people still came out to see the morning parade and take in the activities in Douglas Park during the afternoon.
Organizer Teri James, with the Downtown Langley Business Association, is not on speaking terms with Mother Nature right now but couldn't thank the community enough.
"It was a very wet day but this community amazes me," she said. "They still come out."
She said the number of parade entries was up slightly this year, and the vast majority of groups still came out for the parade or activities in Douglas Park, though a few couldn't, for fear heavy rain might cause damage.
The public also came out and dolled up in colourful rain gear to enjoy the annual events.
"They really do support it no matter what happens," James said.
