Langley’s only casino has a new owner, says the City’s mayor.

The ownership of the Langley Cascades Casino, along with its parent company, has changed hands.

A new ownership group has taken over the chain of casinos as part of a restructuring, confirmed Langley City Mayor Peter Fassbender. He said he was recently made aware of the change in ownership.

However, it isn’t expected to upset operations at the Langley casino and convention centre.

Nor will it affect the agreement that sees an average of $6 million a year flow to City coffers.

“That [the contract] isn’t even directly with them, that’s with the BC Lottery Corporation,” Fassbender said.

Fassbender said he told the Langley Advance he isn't aware of who the new ownership group will be.
